The Atlas of Human Infectious Diseases website launches to provide updates to the book, released in 2012.
The Atlas of Human Infectious Diseases, released in 2012, is a practical visual overview of the current distribution and determinants of major infectious diseases, including neglected tropical diseases. The maps are accompanied by summaries of key information on the infectious agent and its clinical and epidemiological characteristics.
To provide updates to the maps and information, the Atlas of Human Infectious Diseases website was launched on 1 September 2014 as a complement to the book edition. The website is open access and all content is free to share.
The Atlas is helpfully divided into 5 categories:
- Infectious disease drivers
- Bacterial infections
- Parasitic infections
- Fungal infections
- Viral infections
The maps and information are drawn from sources including the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and GAHI.
