A new paper in The Lancet Infectious Diseases analyses soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infection in South America, finding that risk of contracting STH infection has substantially reduced since 2005.

The Lancet Infectious Diseases recently published a new article entitled Soil-transmitted helminth infection in South America: a systematic review and geostatistical meta-analysis, which found that the risk of contracting STH infection in the continent has substantially reduced since 2005. Through a systematic review and geostatistical analysis, the team of researchers from Brazil and Switzerland concluded that their findings can serve as baseline evidence for programmes working on spatial targeting of STH.
