The post-holder will be a key contributor to method development, decision-making on strategy and approach, and refining methods and improving results given data availability, as well presenting findings in various formats.
S/he will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of an ongoing research strategy around quantifying the geographical distribution of IDM NTDs, and will play a key role in analysing results and disseminating findings to stakeholders, including writing for publication.
LASER are seeking applicants with PhD-level qualification in statistics, mathematical ecology, statistical epidemiology, or relevant quantitative subject. Ability to develop complex statistical models and strong programming skills are essential, including modelling spatial stochastic process using MCMC and/or approximate inference approaches. Demonstrable experience using GIS and implementing geostatistical analysis approaches would be an advantage, as would a theoretical and practical understanding of infectious disease epidemiology
